In roaring twenties Chicago, chorine hopeful Roxie Hart convinces her husband to take the rap for the murder of her faithless lover. When he realizes he’s been duped, he turns on her, sending her to death row alongside the famous Velma Kelly. While in the big house, the two vie for the spotlight and the headlines in a fight to escape guilty verdicts and a sentence that would send them to the gallows.
